Often times when yogis think about deepening their practice it seems that advanced asana (think arm balances, handstand, etc.) is the only way. There is much more to yoga beyond learning the party tricks. In this four part workshop series we’ll break down a number of the physical postures that you’ll encounter regularly in class, we’ll explore utilizing pranayama techniques so you can experience some powerful benefits and provide a forum for Q & A and customized attention. Root to Rise: Standing Poses
Join Nicole Siegel for this 2 hour workshop breaking down standing poses and exploring tips for achieving balance. In this session Nicole will guide yogis through a vinyasa class with extra focus on balancing and standing postures. Learn how to use your internal guidance system (proprioception), dristhi (eye gaze), core activation and more in order to achieve better balance. Build a solid foundation from the ground up so you can effectively root down to rise up. Explore various ways to modify standing poses and incorporate props such as a chair or wall to help hold yourself up. End class with a well-deserved savasana!
