Often times when yogis think about deepening their practice it seems that advanced asana (think arm balances, handstand, etc.) is the only way. There is much more to yoga beyond learning the party tricks. In this four part workshop series we’ll break down a number of the physical postures that you’ll encounter regularly in class, we’ll explore utilizing pranayama techniques so you can experience some powerful benefits and provide a forum for Q & A and customized attention. Each workshop is $20 for VIP Members; $25 for non-members.
Join Nicole Siegel for this third section of our New Year, New Yogi series. Nicole will guide you through a warming vinyasa practice that will safely stretch your hamstrings, psoas, quads and more. By warming up the body in this way we’ll prepare to more effectively explore back bending postures. Back bends require patience – prepping the body successfully – so you are warm and supple enough to arch your spine. Your back is part of your core (as well as all of your abdominal muscles and pelvic floor.) Having a strong and activated core is key to a successful yoga practice. You don’t have to have a visible 6-pack to have a strong core! Learn about all of the different muscles that are part of the core and how to work/activate and use them.
