Mandala + Meditation

“The Open Mandala” is a wellness methodology created by Tom Alden. It is a synthesis of traditional contemplative practices for spiritual wellness, primarily Buddhist and Yogic, and contemporary approaches to health and wellness.

Join Esteban for one or all four of the Mandala and Meditation series. Each online session will begin with meditation, followed by an experiential journaling exercise, and concluding with a group discussion.

This workshop is suitable for all levels. Participants will need a yoga mat or a comfortable seat (chair/cushion/bolster) and a journal. Please wear comfortable loose fitting clothing.

Meet Esteban da Cruz

Esteban da Cruz is a yogi and healer living in Cambridge, MA. He organizes himself around spiritual practice, family, work, and art.

He practices primarily under the guidance of Tom Alden, applying Tom’s Open Mandala wellness methodology. He also studies and practices with Chökyi Nyima Rinpoche and Ethan Nichtern. He has a variety of other influences such as the Yoga of Patañjali, Zen, LaoZi’s Taoism, and contemporary psychology.

Esteban is a mental health clinician working with recovering addicts at Cambridge Health Alliance (CHA), as well as with individuals suffering from co-occurring substance use and severe mental illness. He is also a research assistant, consultant and group facilitator of Mindfulness-Based Interventions (MBIs) at CHA’s Center for Mindfulness and Compassion and Massachusetts General Hospital.
