Shortly after starting my corporate career about 15 years ago, I discovered yoga and now I can’t imagine my life without it. Yoga grounds me; it’s how I connect with myself and navigate my relationships with others. When I signed up for teacher training, I had no intention of teaching public classes. My job in tech is demanding, and I never thought I’d find the time. My goal was simply to deepen my practice and connect more with my local yoga community.
However, after graduating, I realized I had to share this knowledge with others, and thus began my teaching journey. Since then, my desire for deeper knowledge and training has only grown. I’ve been experimenting with holistic and alternative medicines and diets since I was a teenager, constantly searching for lifestyle guidelines that resonated with me. I tried them all!
When I found Ayurveda through my yoga community, I knew my experimenting days were over. This science is based on the innate knowledge within us that we simply need to tune into—it was exactly what I had been searching for! My studies began with reading and attending lectures, starting daily routines, trying seasonal cleanses, and observing how my environment impacted my body and mind.
Enrolling in the Down Under Ayurveda School in 2017 for the 200-hour Ayurveda Fundamentals Program was a game-changer. I immediately signed up for the 650-hour Ayurveda Health Counselor Program upon completion. It’s the first of its kind at the Down Under School, and I’m privileged to be a part of it.
Learning to take better care of myself and help others has been the most exciting and inspiring shift in my life. As I build my clientele and spread the teachings of Ayurveda, I know I’m exactly where I’m meant to be. I’m grateful for each day I get to bring the combination of Yoga and Ayurveda into people’s lives. This will never feel like a job!
