Reiki Yoga: A Journey of Movement & Energy Healing
As we transition into fall, our bodies also transition from yang energy to yin energy. The natural world around us begins to shrink back into stillness, preparing for the darkness of winter. Our bodies and nervous systems crave that withdrawal as well, and yet this is when our society shifts into higher gears and increases the demands upon us. Fall brings about the refreshment of cooler weather, but also the swirl of beginnings, back to school, no more summer Fridays or working from home, and returning to status quo intensity.
This is a perfect moment for yin yoga with the complement of reiki. This yin yoga sequence for fall emphasizes the upper chest and arms and targets the Lung and Large Intestine meridians. In yin yoga, we hold poses longer in order to target these meridians. In reiki yoga, you will also receive the benefit of hands on assists to gently help downshift the nervous system to more fully experience that deep relaxation response.
Join experienced yoga teacher and Reiki master Amanda Vallimont for this 2 hour workshop aimed at confronting that urge to do more and go faster with a direct challenge to stay, linger, and slow down.
WHAT IS REIKI?
Reiki comes from two Japanese characters: rei (universal spirit) and ki (life force energy). Everything in existence vibrates with energy, yet our frequencies fluctuate—sometimes flowing with ease, sometimes encountering resistance. Both Reiki and yoga work to realign us with these natural rhythms, promoting balance, clarity, and a sense of grounding in the body and mind.
In this thoughtfully curated class, you’ll be guided through poses that activate and harmonize the seven major chakras, while experiencing hands-on Reiki assists to enhance energetic release and deep relaxation. Expect to soften, open, and embrace stillness, allowing space for renewal and connection.
No prior experience in yoga or Reiki is necessary—just an open heart and a willingness to receive. Space is limited to 12 participants to allow for meaningful, personalized hands-on assists. Please dress in layers and bring a blanket if you tend to get cold while lying still.
