Join Wonder Yoga co-owner Allison Jones to explore the world of emotions. Emotions and how to experience and manage them are skills that aren’t taught to the masses. In some ways our society is extremely cerebral and we often don’t know how to navigate through our feelings and reactions.
In this workshop we’ll discuss the positive and negative side to many of the main emotions we experience along the human spectrum, certain thoughts and behaviors that are self-defeating and supportive tools and practices for dealing with uncomfortable feelings. We’ll explore the psyche’s shadow and the role that plays, what it means to spiritually bypass something and how to hold space for yourself and others when feeling difficult feelings.
We’ll explore concepts like the Law of Attraction and manifestation and where emotions intersect with these ideas. Sometimes folks are afraid to feel anything they perceive as negative for fear that they are going to magnetically attract more negative things into their lives. This is a bit of a reductionist view of these metaphysical concepts and we’ll explore how it’s ok to be completely human and still create an amazing life.
Our industry – yoga and New Age spirituality – can often put a detrimental focus on the “light” forgetting about the very important role the dark plays. We’ll seek to balance our inner light AND dark in this workshop and honor and hold space for it all.
This workshop will feature an overview and presentation, interactive discussion, some exercises designed for self-reflection and a group meditation. No previous experience is necessary.
Have a journal and pen available. This workshop will be held live over Zoom and a recording will be sent out after the fact to those who are registered.
